Original painted cover artwork by John Bolton for Dark Horse Comics’ 2008 The Evil Dead collected graphic novel, adapting Sam Raimi’s landmark 1981 horror movie. The book collects the four-issue Evil Dead series published earlier that year, written by Mark Verheiden with Bolton providing the artwork throughout.
The cover prominently features Ash Williams, alongside one of Bolton’s grotesque Deadite images. Bolton had a particularly strong association with the franchise, having previously painted Dark Horse’s Army of Darkness adaptation before returning for The Evil Dead.
