Original cover artwork by Tom Lyle, originally prepared for the planned Strike! #7. The regular Eclipse series was canceled after issue #6, and the planned seventh issue was instead repackaged as the one-shot Strike! vs. Sgt. Strike Special in 1988.
The original board preserves the abandoned Strike! #7 masthead, Eclipse logo, Comics Code box, cover price and production markings, providing direct evidence of the issue's original intended form before publication plans changed.
Created by Chuck Dixon and Tom Lyle, Strike! followed teenager Dennis Foreman after he discovered the power harness of World War II hero Sgt. Strike. The series ran for six issues from August 1987 through January 1988.
