Original published Sin City cover artwork by Frank Miller, created for Comics Retailer #64, published by Krause Publications in 1997. The composition features two of Miller’s most recognisable Sin City characters, Marv and Nancy Callahan, rendered in his distinctive high-contrast black-and-white style.
The cover carries the theme “San Diego or Bust”, a direct reference to the annual San Diego Comic-Con, with Miller placing Marv and Nancy in a playful convention-bound composition. The artwork combines large areas of solid black, energetic brushwork and sharply defined negative space, all hallmarks of Miller’s mature Sin City visual language.
